API Stone Ltd was established in 2008, incorporated in 2010. We are the leading UK supplier of high quality masoned sandstone, quartzite, limestone and granite.

API Stone was founded under the directorship of the API Group. API Stone’s divisional managing director comes from an 18 year career at Johnsons Wellfield, the UKs leading Yorkstone quarry and works site. Adam Sylvester was a draftsman and CNC operator at Johnsons in Huddersfield. It was natural for API works base to be in Huddersfield utilizing Adam’s established professional network.
ESTABLISHED CLIENTELE
By a few years API Stone had quickly become the go-to natural stone provider for builders and suppliers in the North and Midlands areas of England. Regular clients by now include PMJ Masonry, Lancashire Brick and Tile, EH Smith Building Supplies, Roy Geddes Bricks, Brickability, Conroy Brook Developments as well as merchants and stockists such as Jewsons and Travis Perkins.
BARNSLEY SIXTH FORM COLLEGE
The team at API Stone was able to secure the supply of API Laguna, a Spanish Limestone exclusive to API, for the new Barnsley Sixth Form College, St Mary’s Place, Barnsley. This was the largest commercial project the API team had been involved with up to this point. The designers for the scheme were Bond Bryan Architects in Sheffield, the stone fixers were PMJ Masonry out of York, who we have supplied on several other projects. The stone was 100mm ashlar/handset in three varying course heights. API Stone was also involved in the NBS design drafting for all aspect of the stone pieces and anchoring.
GODIVA PLACE
In 2017 API was able to work alongside EH Smith Facades, who supplied the rainscreen, in both the project coordination and the manufacturing and supply of natural stone to the new student housing development at Coventry University, Godiva Place. This has been the largest rainscreen project API has completed with EH Smith Facades and serves as a benchmark for what we can offer to commercial builds. Details: Godiva Place, Student Accommodation, 800 Student Flats, Lower Ford Street, Coventry, Project size: £48M. Architect: Lewis and Hickey, Contractor: Galliford Try, Stone Fixer: Speedclad. Stone type, API St Bees, red sandstone, 30mm thick slabs, mesh back, on kerf rail. Project completion: Sept 2018.
CONROY BROOK DEVELOPMENTS AWARD

Conroy Brook is one of our longstanding and regular customers. We were delighted to see they were awarded residential development of the year award at the Insider Property Awards for Pennine Gardens, Upperthong. We supplied the API Beige walling and traditional detailing of heads, cills, mullions, dentils and copings which were used on this project. The whole development creates an image for what API Stone can produce for our clients. As of November 2018, Conroy Brook Developments has been shortlisted for Builder of the Year Award, also featuring projects with API Stone supply.
